We're havin' a heat wave
Holy its hot. The last 2 days have been around 32-35 degrees. That is just too hot.
But I have to say I am loving having the sun. It feels like summer finally! I was lucky enough to be off too :)
We had a nice family weekend. Full of BBQ and good company.
I just work tomorrow and then I am on holidays. By choice of course :)
I am loving the break.
I have not been camping in years. Part of me is looking forward to it, the other part of me dreads the dirtiness of it lol. I cant wait for the campfire, and to sit reading my book overlooking the ocean....ahhhh summer.
Not much else new here. Just wanted to pop in and say hello! I will try and get some new pictures up here soon! Have some good slip n slide ones :O)

Its been that long?
Wow since June 3rd since I updated. I really do not know where the time has gone!
I have spent most of it at work! But the busy 2 weeks are over and now it slows down. I will be taking 10 days off when my mother in law comes. I cannot wait:)
We have booked camping for 4 nights in the island. A nice river/beach front campsite overlooking the ocean. (Its where the river meets the ocean) and its full of big trees.
I have to admit I am not a camper...but am doing this for the kids lol. I had to make sure it was high class camping. This place is beautiful, private and has showers ;) Oh and a cafe!
I finished my 8th week of bootcamp, I am proud to say I lost another 7 inches (spread out all over not in one place lol) I think I am down one clothing size at last. phew.
I am gaining muscle, and losing the fat so the weight has only gone down a few more pounds but thats ok! I am doing it another 4 weeks.
I did all my fitness testing and improved a lot on the exercies. I am happy!
My goal for this month is to keep up the healthy eating BUT increase my water intake. some days I really slack on that. Truth be told I hate having to pee so much lol..especially at work. But I know its important. So starting monday I will get my 8 glasses a day :)
My hair is still black. And fading. And not fading nicely lol. I cant wait to get it fixed. But I need to save some money first. its gonna cost me big time!
Work is still going great. I love it! I love the orthopedic unit more then surgical. I find its better team work and I feel like a real nurse lol. I have met some amazing patients, who I plan on keeping in contact with. They are the ones that appreciated my care so much to express it.
This one patient has alzheimers and can be aggressive. Over time he grew to love me, never was aggressive. I always gave him proper care and spent the time he needed me to. Even if I was busy, or on another nursing team, I would always go and see him. He just happened to be the father of a famous news anchor here in the city. His wife was there daily and told me how much she appreciated it. She told his doctor, other nurses and I even overheard her tell the physiotherapist. She even told me she will not let my work go unoticed. Wow. I felt so amazing!
My other patient was a 23rd yr old guy. broken bones. He was in so much pain, having a lot of pain meds. He was out of it for a day, enough to hit on me lol. The next day he remembered things and told his aunt. She told me he told he that he thinks he was hitting on me lol. So the rest of the day I made sure to tease him about it lol. He is young, and actually reminds me of my younger brother. we just got along so well. joking around all the time. Again, his family was appreciative for what I did for him (I cannot talk about some things on here) that they told me I AM ONE OF THE NURSES THAT A PATIENT IS GOING TO REMEMBER.....
wow. I guess its true. you remember the ones that would not good at all, and the ones that were beyond good. I am so proud to be the good one ;)
Those are my 2 experiences lately. It really keeps me going. I know I may not be an RN. But I feel I am doing an exceptional job as an LPN.
I am not sure if I mentioned in my previous post about going to talk to 3 LPN classes at my college? or that the LPN coodinator told them they me see me back there one day? TO TEACH and at first help as a lab instructor. I cannot wait and was so happy to hear here say that!! Many doors may open for me :)
Well I better go. Need to get the kids ready for bed. they do go to bed later now. 830-9 or so. BUT they also sleep in til 8 or 830.Have to say I like that !!
We are headed to a small airport air show tomorrow. Should be fun! I will take some pictures.

Update
The crazy month of working for me has began.
And it included a double shift on sunday. Yes that is right...18 hrs of nursing for me.
I was beyind tired when I was done. And I do not think I will often volunteer for that. But, it will be a nice paycheck in a couple weeks!!!
As of sept 30 I will no longer be working on surgical. The manager of the unit has cause quite the uproar by deciding to phase out LPNs and she states the unit is too acute.
This is utter BULL and I hope she gets caught on what she is doing.
The LPNs on the unit are fuming. They are trying to do what they can to fight back.
I am casual, so it does not affect me as much as the full time staff. I will have to find work on another unit, but I have the summer to see what happens.
I love the surgical unit, and am more sad about this all. I really hope karma kicks in and the manager is caught. She is super sneaky in the way she did things. The unit is going to suffer big time. Enough said :)
Boot camp is going awesome. My first month I lost 5 pds and 5 inches. Time to update that weight loss ticker hey!
I gained muscle and lost fat. My face and waist lost the most haha.
I started month 2 and cannot wait to continue seeing results. I am still determined and will make my goal one way or the other lol.
The kids are great. In swimming lessons again. Arianna is learning to swim in the deep pool now. It is amazing to watch. She had her kindergarten orientation. There will be 20 kids in the class and it is a wonderful school. She is very excited. It is great that we have rose who will be able to walk her to school and pick her up if we are working.
I better go get ready for bootcamp in the rain! yay!

Update
Again, I have been lacking on the updates.
Sorry, a stressful time as I am only days away from taking my licensing exam. I am very nervous. So much on the line.
I have not been working as much, just trying to study.
We have had some 30 degree days here...I am so happy to have the summer sun, but more happy that the house has central air! I cannot imagine how I would sleep otherwise ;)
Today Arianna was in a parade. It is rodeo weekend here. and the champs had a float. She was so excited. She almost didnt make it to start, as it was SO hot. But, one it got going she was waving away. It was a wonderful moment. We also got to reconnect with her friend she made last year at the conference. He is 17 I believe and has a hand like Ariannas. I want to make sure we see him more and that I meet his mom.
After the parade we hit the fair to let the kids go on a few rides. It was insanely expensive, so we didnt stay that long. it was just a nice treat for the kids.
We had a lovely day as a family, and all are nice and tired and bit too toasted by the sun :)

A little about bootcamp!
http://www.survivorbootcamp.com/
here is their website. I have had a few people ask what it is about and were interested in maybe coming with me. Yay! It will be much nicer having some friends whine and complain with me.
It literally is like bootcamp for the army; lots of pushups.
It is a total body work out. Each day is something different. We can do a cardio day, upper body, lower body and circuits.
It is an entire hour that does not let up lol.
My sister in law runs the one I am doing, and she is tough. she has the best record for inches lost.
I am committing to 2 months for sure then we will see. I figure this month was going to be hard to get through...lol...but next month I will be right into it ;)
so thats it!!!
I am sick right now. I even went into work for my 12 hr shift...stayed 5 mins and then had to come home :( I went to bed. I felt really guilty giving up a 12 hr shift. But, it was a buddy one, so they didnt need to replace me.
I dont work now until saturday, so I can rest up and use this time to hit the books hard. that licensing exam is sneaking up on me!!
Grandpa Hunsicker left today. the kids asked for him when they got home today. It was nice visit. not too exciting, I hope he didnt mind.
Time for bed! Need rest, I hope to go to bootcamp tomorrow...and its cardio day ...yikes

Bootcamp
I am getting my butt kicked.
I joined boot camp April 28th. It is going to be 4 weeks of torture lol. But it works. I decided to make the commitment! I go at least 3 days a week. Depending on work. And its the longest hour of my life lol.
My sister in law bought a frachise of survivor bootcamp. She is doing awesome with it, I am so proud.
Her classes have had the most success in inches lost!! Its amazing. And I can tell, its such a killer work out.
After my first class I was super sore. there was NO way I could survive the next day lol. I went again last night, and it was deadly haha. But, I am slowly being able to handle it and still am able to move today haha.
I will go tonight, and will enjoy my weekend off lol.
If you have not tried a bootcamp...wow...its intense. I will update my success after the 4 weeks, as we took measurements on my first day.
I think Brandon is going to join me next month :)
Work is good. I am orientated to orthopedics now. It is 12 hr shifts there. the day ones are ok, but the night ones drag on forever. I hated them lol. I am back into giving medications which I am excited about. I love giving needles ;) haha.
My licensing exam is sneaking up on me...3 weeks left. time to really push to study when I am not working!!!
Grandpa Hunsicker is visiting. The kids are happy to see him. It is nice he made the trip out. We will do some fun things while he is here. Brandon is off the weekend and I work, so they are on there own!! :)
I do still have some recent pics on my camera. I just need to upload them!! I will get to that soon.
time to study and rest before boot camp!
